I am happy to present to you one of our most loved butterflies. Native to the Philippines and part of the Papilionidae family, you will notice the beautiful color contrast between red and black, with black circles cutting through the red pigments in the bottom wings, certainly gives this butterfly an interesting look. The red not being very common in the butterfly world especially with bigger butterflies, the Scarlet Mormon will always be a great choice for your collection. Also called the Rumanzovia (after Nicholas Rumanzow, chancellor of the Russian Empire) they feed on the nectar from a variety of flowers, while their caterpillars feed on the leaves and flowers of citrus plants.
