These scorpions inhabit the jungle floors of south east Asia and grow to an enormous size. The have large claws and are not deadly to humans as opposed to their desert cousins from the middle east, which have small claws and can be fatal to humans if stung by one. They are black in colour with a dark green tint. Scorpions are often served up with rice in Thai restaurants. They are farmed in Penang in big open pens and grown by the thousands.
